Abstract:

Leptosciarella Tuomikoski is seen as an independent genus with four
subgenera, Leptosciarella s. str., Trichosiopsis Tuomikoski, Hirtipennia
subgen. nov. and Leptospina subgen. nov. The monophyly of Leptosciarella
Tuomikoski is founded on an autapomorphic characteristic, the apical
tooth on the gonostyli. At present the genus includes 36 Palaearctic
species - 4 species belong to the subgenus Hirtipennia subgen. nov.,
27 species belong to the subgenus Leptosciarella s. str., 4 species
belong to the subgenus Leptospina subgen. nov. and one species belong
to the subgenus Trichosiopsis Tuomikoski. Seven species were described
as new. Trichodapus gen. nov. includes four Palaearctic species characterized
by long halteres and narrowed base of wings as apomorphic characteristics.
One species of this genus was described as new. An identification
key is given for subgenera and species. The species were redescribed
in most cases and illustrated in detail. Nineteen taxa were placed
as synonyms.
